Before becoming part of Ocean Experience our yacht has had a remarkable history. She was designed by David Thomas and built by Devonport Dockyard in 1991 for the Challenge Business. Built to withstand the arduous conditions of the Southern Ocean, she took part in the following races:

• British Steel Challenge 1992-93
• BT Global Challenge 1996-97

During these races our yacht circumnavigated the globe twice against the prevailing winds and currents achieving a podium finish in 1997 for Save the Children.

Both of these Challenges are billed as 'the world's toughest yacht race' and have proved the design of this yacht to be capable of withstanding the worst sea conditions the planet can manifest.

Since completing the 1997 race our yacht has taken part in adventure sailing events in Europe and crossed the Atlantic both ways as part of the EDS Atlantic Challenge.
